You can perform a number of edit operations on them such as copy, cut
and paste.
The Delete Column dialog box allows you to remove text contained in certain columns. By default, Qedit deletes the text and shifts the rest of the line. If you prefer to clear the text and put spaces instead, enable the Fill with spaces option.
|
With the Insert Column dialog box, you can now insert a character string at a specific column. The string is entered at that position and existing text is shifted to the right.
| |
If you want to move existing text to another column, simply use the
Shift Columns dialog box. Enter the number of columns you want to shift
by and select OK.
|
The Shift left and Shift right move the text on each line to the previous (left) or next (right) tab stop. Qedit moves the text by removing or inserting tab characters or spaces based on the Use spaces for tabs file property.
As an alternative to the Shift... commands, you can easily move lines to the
another tab stop using the tab
key. Select some lines and use the tab
key to move the lines to the next tab stop on the right. Use shift+tab
to move the lines to the previous tab stop on the left. Note, these functions move
complete lines only.
